Job summary

SAIC in Portsmouth, VA seeks a Senior Logistics Analyst to support Navy VLF shore-based communications sustainment and modernization. The role applies RCM to evaluate failure modes, develop maintenance strategies, and create documentation to support fleet readiness.

You will work in an IPT, coordinate with OEMs and Navy personnel, develop MRCs and MIPs to NAVSEA standards, and ensure maintenance plans include timings, man-hours, tools, and TM references. Travel to NAVSEA/NAVWAR as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years or more of related experience.
• Reliability-centered maintenance experience.
• IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
• Hands-on experience interpreting MRCs and MIPs for IT systems.
• Familiarity with SKED (Scheduled Maintenance System).
• Reliability and Failure Analysis experience.
• Experience with FMEA/FMECA and applying structured RCM methodologies per NAVSEA instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct FMEA and FMECA studies on VLF transmitter components and identify risk levels.
• Collaborate with OEMs, Navy engineers, and fleet maintenance personnel to validate failure data.
• Develop, review, and revise MRCs and MIPs per NAVSEA standards.
• Translate RCM outputs into step-by-step maintenance procedures for Navy personnel.
• Ensure maintenance tasks include periodicity, man-hour estimates, tools, safety precautions, and TM references.
• Evaluate PMS schedules to identify redundant or ineffective tasks.
• Apply RCM decision logic to optimize task content and intervals.
• Support RAM modeling using historical data to forecast maintenance resources.
• Coordinate with supply chain to ensure parts and tools availability.
• Travel to NAVSEA/NAVWAR or contractor facilities for reviews.
