RC Chemical Operator – Permanent. Pay Range: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour.

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate chemical processes and equipment correctly, while meeting production goals and expectations on a consistent basis, while maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Operate chemical processes and equipment correctly, while meeting production goals and expectations on a consistent basis, while maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
• Follow SOPs/POPs and all other procedures in every detail, including safety policies.
• Participate in end‑of‑shift turnovers with ability to effectively communicate.
• Wear required PPE, including respirators.
• Operate equipment (for example pumps, GLVs, filter presses, pan filters, reactors, valves, pH probes, ovens, forklifts, etc.) in a reasonable and self‑sustaining manner.
• Understand basic chemical reactions and properties of chemicals within the work area.
• Handle and process hazardous waste as required within the work area.
• Wearing hearing protection, half‑mask respirator, and other forms of PPE may be required at times.

What is required for this role:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years experience in basic chemical operations or related experience.
• Work week: one week 3 days scheduled, 4 days off; following week 4 days scheduled, 3 days off.
• 12-hour shifts, bringing you to 28 hours of overtime pay per pay check with opportunities for additional overtime.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, convert calculations to percentage and to the metric system.
• Understand concepts involving statistics, probabilities, and formula manipulation and perform basic calculations on volume, mass, atomic percentages, weight percentages, density, molecular weight of alloys and compounds, and charge weights.
• Frequent physical requirements: stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; smell.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• May be assigned shifts that include evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
• Successfully complete a background check, pre‑placement physical exam, and drug screen.
