Job summary

The Menta Education Group, Beardstown, IL, is seeking a Paraprofessional who provides Student Transportation and classroom support. The role requires driving a school vehicle and assisting in behavioral support within PK-21 settings.

Mon-Fri with no weekends, following a 10-month school calendar, direct hire with yearly renewal by the school. Compensation ranges from $17.97 to $27.06 per hour, with full benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain a Passenger Endorsement.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Paraprofessional Certification is ideal, but not required.
• Must be punctual and have good attendance.
• Have an established work history of transportation and demonstrated length-of-stay in jobs.
• Must have patience and willingness to work with students that require behavior and emotional support.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Pass drug and criminal background screening procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide Paraprofessional classroom support.
• Manage classroom behaviors.
• Provide regular, before & after school student transportation (to and from school) and also "as needed" transportation during school hours.
• Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Maintain classroom order and safety (Security) Provide general supervision of students inside the school setting.
• Assist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior.
• Maintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditions. Respond to emergency situations.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors.
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully.

Job description

As a Paraprofessional who provides Student Transportation with The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school. You will also provide student transportation to and from school, using school equipment (van or bus).
