Job summary

Rosenbauer Group is seeking a Chassis Line Supervisor to oversee the workflow, output, and scheduling of the chassis line. This role drives continuous process improvements and staff development while coordinating with production management on project progress and parts exchange.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience on a chassis line, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to supervise a team, ensure safety, and maintain accurate records. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Extensive experience in Chassis Line or similar production line environment.
  • Experience with fire truck production knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workflow, output, and schedule of the Chassis Line.
  • Continuously improve production processes and team member development.
  • Update managers on project progress and coordinate part exchanges.
  • Write performance reviews and work with HR on worker issues.
  • Inspect trucks to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage tools and parts inventory and create POs as needed.
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Chassis Line Supervisor will manage the workflow, output, and schedule of the department. They will continuously improve production processes and team member’s development. The Chassis Line Supervisor will update the production manager and other department heads of your departments progress on given project and exchange parts as needed. Also, they will write performance reviews and work with HR to address worker related issues as they occur.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages the workflow, output, and schedule of the department.
  • Continuously improves production processes and team member’s development.
  • Updates the production manager and other department heads of your departments progress on given project and exchange parts as needed.
  • Writes performance reviews and work with HR to address worker related issues as they occur.
  • Inspects reviews of trucks to confirm each truck meets its specs and quality standards.
  • Manages inventory of tools and parts, creating POs as necessary and keep department running smoothly.
  • Keeps everyone safe by enforcing all employees to follow strict safety guidelines and have a clean work environment.
  • Ensures Company goals and objectives are met through consistent support and application of Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

Knowledge

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Extensive experience with Chassis Line department required.
  • Extensive hands-on fire truck-product knowledge from either a manufacturing or fire department perspective preferred.
Skills
Language
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Math
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer
  • Ability to perform intermediate PC functions including spreadsheet formulas and functions, queries, tables, merges and special reports.

  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Able to lead and supervise a team of an employee’s effectively and with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within one’s production process and make the needed adjustments.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records.

  • Ability to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Must be able to professionally work with customers, vendors, and external business leaders.
  • Requires responsibility, ability to work well as a team member, and to work well independently.

Other Qualifications
  • Driving- license - May be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.
  • Driving- Own Vehicle - May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.
  • Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally - Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Travel- Local - May be required to attend local meetings offsite.
  • Travel- Overnight - May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.
  • Travel- Prolonged Periods - May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.
  • Qualifications- Other - Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
