Summary

Responsible for operating and maintaining the Offal building and Raw Receiving Areas. Maintains a valid driver’s license. Qualified to drive Class A & Class B rated trucks safely on company property while always securing the load (no spills). Ability to load & unload all Raw and Finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Holds and maintains a valid State issued Driver’s License
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to use scale at Keystone.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and fluid levels daily. Trucks are to be cleaned inside & out at the end of each shift.
  • Fuel levels of trucks should be checked daily and topped off at a minimum of once per week.
  • Pre and post trip equipment daily and report any vehicle problems (i.e mechanical failures, damage or incidents and accidents) immediately to the Plant Manager
  • Inspects raw material by visually looking for any contaminates and smelling for off-odors. Know the procedure to place a vehicle “on hold” or “do not dump” status if there is a concern with the product.
  • Coordinates dumping of product with the cooker operators to ensure maximum efficiency. Less than full loads may be required to maintain throughput goals.
  • Ability to switch blood from pumping directly to Keystone & divert into tanks that will need to be shuttled & dumped at Keystone when needed. Responsible to blow out blood line with compressed air at the end of the Harvest shift.
  • Completes gross weight sheet and all daily paperwork. Submits on time for manager review.
  • Ability to load finished product (grease and meal) on to customer assigned trailers.
  • Inspects tankers and trailers arriving at facility prior to loading product. Loads all three final products and places security seals on trailers leaving the facility and documents the same on the shipping schedule.
  • Aid in the process of loading super sacks.
  • Ability to operate the Offal Room including start up and shut down of all equipment by following SOP’s.
  • Operates Bin Dumper and Bin Washer.
  • Operates forklift to unload deliveries, load bin dumper/washer, load clean bins ect..
  • High pressure clean raw material trailers.
  • High pressure clean raw material receiving areas, including Offal Room, concreate areas, scales, pallets, bin washer, overhead doors, plant equipment and residual areas.
  • Cross train on Feather/Blood operator position
  • 12-hour shifts and shift schedule changes will be required to bridge a shift when missing an employee due to PTO time and absenteeism.
  • Completes mandatory yearly training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Be company certified as a forklift and skid loader operator.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, & speak the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to self-supervise and/or work independently, completing assigned tasks daily.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
