Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Transporter Raw Product to move raw materials from the cooler entrance into production while following GMP and safety guidelines. You will handle forklifts, scan inventory, and ensure accurate counts to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic math skills, and the ability to read safety labels. This role requires compliance with safety standards and the company’s Safe Quality Food program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other transport equipment.
• Ability to read, comprehend and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Use handheld scanner to track product flow.
• Verify correct counts of product.
• Change/maintain batteries and document accordingly.
• Set-up raw material to ensure continuous production flow.
• Scan pallet tags and match to pallets.
• Store pallets neatly in racks.
• Maintain productive speed to meet production needs.
• Rotate stock as required.
• Utilize downtime effectively.
• Adhere to GMP, safety policies and Safe Quality Food program.
