As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a Raw Material Procurement Planning and Optimization Specialist to be part of our team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama.
This position works hybrid, 3 days from site.
Objective: The purpose of this position is to support the lowest cost slab production & working capital while ensuring smooth melt shop operations. Responsible for modeling slab cost, maintaining optimal inventory levels, forecasting future consumptions, and managing raw material quality and trials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant business field is preferred
- Proven >5 years of experience responsible of designing, updating, and maintaining raw materials inventory reports
- Domain of forecasting tools or statistical methods to predict raw material consumption
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling etc).
- Analytics & visualization presentation tools as PowerBI
- Experience working under pressure on multiple projects within your project timeframes
- Experienced in using financial insights to recommend process improvements
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience in Operational Process environment
- Basic understanding of metal melting process is a plus

Some of the key activities you will be responsible for
- Primary user for Raw Material Optimization software (slab cost modeling)
- Designs, updates, and maintains inventory reports using spreadsheet/database software such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Office, and internal web based reporting programs
- Updates report formats as needed, including month end closing, sales forecast consumption report and Raw Material Stocks.
- Monitor and provide feedback to suppliers on the quality received and submit respective reports to all involved parties. Included scope of reporting responsibility, but not limited to: internal and external scrap, ferroalloys, slag conditioners/formers, and other raw materials.
- Responsibilities specifically aligned with specific departmental objectives and area of expertise.
- Keep up to date with the current market trends and industry forecasts
- Provide recommendations and suggestions for improvements in any aspects relating to increased performance
- Optimizing operational processes and procedures for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Tracking and reporting on operational performance for the Americas & Global Raw Materials
- Interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers, answering questions, and resolving issues
- Assisting with the implementation of new processes and procedures
- Promote safety culture and ensure all safety, environmental, and ergonomic requirements are met.
- Any other activities that may be required, or requested to support the business
Salary range: 92,400-115,500 plus bonus.
