Cozen O’Connor is seeking a Rates Analyst to join our Finance team in Philadelphia. This role oversees the firm’s billing rate structures and ensures compliance with client agreements, focusing on accuracy and client service.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with legal billing systems, rate agreements, and leading initiatives that improve reporting and automation to support the firm’s financial goals.

Experience with Aderant and advanced Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in billing, pricing, or financial analysis, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Experience with Aderant strongly preferred.
• Expert-level Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query); data visualization experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with client eBilling platforms and LEDES formats is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance of client-specific billing rates and AFAs in the firm’s financial systems (e.g., Aderant).
• Serve as SME and primary contact for rate-related inquiries from attorneys, billing staff, and firm leadership.
• Monitor compliance with client billing guidelines and contractual terms; resolve discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits related to billing rates and fee arrangements.
• Mentor junior team members on rate management and system usage.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to enhance rate reporting and automation.

Cozen O’Connor is seeking a Rates Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is critical in overseeing the firm’s billing rate structures and ensuring compliance with client agreements. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in legal billing systems, a strong command of rate agreements, and the ability to lead initiatives that support the firm’s financial goals and client service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance of client-specific billing rates and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) in the firm’s financial systems (e.g., Aderant)
• Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for rate-related inquiries from attorneys, billing staff, and firm leadership
• Monitor compliance with client billing guidelines and contractual terms, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits related to billing rates and fee arrangements
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on rate management best practices and system usage
• Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to enhance rate-related reporting and automation

The salary range for this role is $75,000 -$85,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
