Job summary

The Raptor Center in Minnesota is seeking a Relief Rehabilitator to support the care of wild raptors in rehabilitation, including juvenile renesting and patient management. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and volunteer training, with daily patient care and clinic support.

The 6-month, full-time position requires flexibility to cover high caseload periods, with shifts typically five 8-hour days within 7:30 AM–7:00 PM, and potential 4×10-hour shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience (CVT) to total >=4 years.
• At least 1 year of professional wildlife rehabilitation experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse groups.
• Strong observational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical ability to meet job requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, PowerPoint.
• Positive attitude toward coworkers, supervisor, volunteers, and public.
• Excellent customer service in person, online and by phone.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in writing and speaking.
• Time management and initiative to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Rehabilitate raptor patients and develop reconditioning schedules.
• Evaluate flight performance and coordinate pre-release exams with staff veterinarian.
• Care juvenile raptors during baby season; renesting and fostering.
• Coordinate with clinic manager on oversight of TRC's mouse colony.
• Support daily patient care; feed and medicate, prepare medications for volunteers.
• Assist with recheck exams and in quarantine spaces as needed.
• Assist with general clinic operations and public inquiries.
• Train and supervise volunteers.
