Job summary

The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota is hiring a Clinical and Research Post‑Doctoral Associate to split time between advanced wildlife medicine and high‑impact research. The role supports care for over 1,000 wild raptors annually and contributes to a long‑term clinical database for diverse wildlife health studies.

The position is mentored by TRC faculty and offers collaboration with CVM and regional, national, and international wildlife health partners.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong foundational experience in avian or wildlife medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent research, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high‑volume, dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to wild raptors, including diagnostics and treatment.
  • Conduct independent and collaborative wildlife health research projects.
  • Mentor veterinary interns and students in clinical techniques.
  • Collaborate with CVM faculty and wildlife health partners across regions.
  • Disseminate findings via publications and conferences.
