Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne is seeking a Propulsion Engineer (Raptor Flight) to take hardware from concept to flight and back. You will work with engineers across disciplines to enable high cadence and reliable engine performance in flight and ground tests.

The role requires a bachelor's in engineering and hands-on experience with pressurized fluid systems, hardware design, and flight hardware. Willingness to travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (required).
  • 1+ years of experience with pressurized fluid systems.
  • 1+ years of experience in hardware design, manufacture, assembly, test and/or flight.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design, analysis, development engineering, and flight operations tasks for Raptor engine propulsion systems
  • Align resources to accomplish key objectives and set high performance standards
  • Enable high launch cadence with automated analysis of test and flight data and develop new algorithms for reliability
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to achieve engine performance in flight and ground testing
  • Support live test and flight operations as primary console operator
  • Develop test plans and analyze test results for flight readiness
  • Implement rigorous hardware and software verification processes through automation and controls
