Job summary
HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care in the ICU setting. You will respond to rapid responses and codes, align with charge nurses on high-risk patients, and perform MEWS-based rounding and assessments.
The ideal candidate has a BSN, Texas RN license, ACLS/BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and at least 2 years of ICU nursing experience. This on-site role supports the hospital’s mission and patient outcomes in Conroe, Texas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- Licensed registered nurse in Texas.
- ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Responds to Rapid Response calls, Code Blue, and Code Neuro.
- Communicates with charge nurse to identify high risk patients.
- Round on all nursing units every two hours to address MEWS scores.
- Assess all at-risk patients as MEWS scores increase.
- Monitor surgical schedule and post-op patients.
- Enter RRT data and prepare monthly reports.
- Lead RRT/Code Blue committee activities.
- Refer patient complaints to Unit Managers/Directors.
- Utilize chain of command to ensure action is taken.
- Support staff satisfaction feedback system for RRT.
