Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking a reliable Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and day-to-day operation of our portable rap crusher across Idaho sites. You will ensure safe, efficient plant performance and supervise crews as needed, with training available.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy equipment, excavator/loader experience, and a valid driver's license. Expect varied hours, travel, and adherence to attendance and safety policies in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Experience with excavator and loader required.
• Experience with crushers and asphalt plants preferred.
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must meet attendance policy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, tear down, and operate portable rap crusher daily.
• Troubleshoot and repair crusher and conveyor belts.
• Perform preventative maintenance like lubrication and adjustments.
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, etc.
• Feed crusher with excavator and run equipment as needed.
• Perform welding and fabrication as required.
• Travel to operation sites; travel required.
• Willing to work extended hours up to 7 days a week.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and operation of our Rap Crusher. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the crusher as well as maintaining the equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the setup, teardown, and day to day operations of our portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and supporting conveyor belts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, belt adjustments, crusher adjustments, and component replacements
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and other critical components
• Feed crusher with excavator and run loader/dozer as needed
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Training available

Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected

Willing to work varied and extended hours up to 7 days a week when needed

Travel will be required as the crusher operates throughout Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven work history reflecting a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Must have excavator and loader operator experience
• Experience with Crusher and Asphalt Plants preferred
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred
• Must have a current Driver’s license
• Must be able to meet company's attendance policy
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
