Job summary

Knife River is seeking a reliable Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead daily operations and maintenance of our rap crusher across Idaho. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime, with travel required for crusher coverage.

Qualified candidates bring 5+ years of experience, excavator/loader operation skills, and preferrably crusher/asphalt plant familiarity. Valid driver's license and pre-employment drug screen are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, teardown, and daily operation of portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair crusher and conveyor belts.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication and adjustments.
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, and chains.
• Feed crusher with excavator; operate loader/dozer as needed.
• Perform welding and fabrication as required.
• Other duties as assigned; training available.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and operation of our Rap Crusher. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the crusher as well as maintaining the equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Duties And/or Responsibilities

• Responsible for the setup, teardown, and day to day operations of our portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and supporting conveyor belts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, belt adjustments, crusher adjustments, and component replacements
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and other critical components
• Feed crusher with excavator and run loader/dozer as needed
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Training available

Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected.

Willing to work varied and extended hours up to 7 days a week when needed.

Travel will be required as the crusher operates throughout Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven work history reflecting a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Must have excavator and loader operator experience
• Experience with Crusher and Asphalt Plants preferred
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred
• Must have a current Driver’s license
• Must be able to meet company's attendance policy
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
