Responsibilities

• Support live-fire test operations and explosive testing events.

• Maintain roads, berms, fencing, and general property infrastructure.
• Perform basic fabrication, repairs, and maintenance projects.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and range safety activities.
• Travel approximately 10-15% outside of Texas as needed.

About the Role

Insight Global is seeking a Range Operations Technician to support a cutting-edge defense technology client in Cedar Creek, Texas. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in physically demanding outdoor environments and have experience with military engineering, explosives handling, construction, range operations, or heavy equipment.

The Range Operations Technician will be responsible for supporting live-fire testing activities, maintaining range infrastructure, handling energetic materials, and ensuring safe operations across the property. This position works directly with the Director of Range Operations and Range Safety Officer and plays a critical role in test execution and site readiness.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support live-fire test operations and explosive testing events
• Build, maintain, and tear down target arrays and test fixtures
• Assist with explosives handling, transportation, and range setup
• Operate vehicles, trailers, and light/heavy equipment
• Maintain roads, berms, fencing, and general property infrastructure
• Perform basic fabrication, repairs, and maintenance projects
• Participate in daily safety briefings and range safety activities
• Travel approximately 10-15% outside of Texas as needed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience safely handling firearms and understanding the four rules of firearms safety
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Central Texas conditions
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience with tools, equipment, or construction-related work
• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to tow trailers and obtain a HAZMAT endorsement within 6 months
• Ability to pass a background check and meet ATF requirements for working around energetic materials

Preferred Qualifications

• U.S. Army Combat Engineer (12B), especially Sapper-trained personnel
• U.S. Navy Seabee experience
• Military background in demolitions, breaching, explosives handling, ordnance safety, or range operations
• Firefighting, infrastructure construction, or allied trade experience
• Additional language skills are a plus
• Recently separated military personnel and SkillBridge candidates encouraged to apply
