Job summary

Saalex is seeking a Range Laser Safety Specialist for Corona, CA. Hybrid remote/in-office with travel up to international venues. The role supports US Navy NSWC Corona and includes surveys, data analysis, and safety instruction.

Required: BS degree and extensive laser safety experience; DoD/NATO familiarity is a plus. Travel, fieldwork, and collaboration with senior partners are essential components of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant laser safety experience.
• Experience as in systems safety, systems engineering and test engineering desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-field surveys of test, evaluation and training ranges.
• Present briefs to range personnel and collect field notes and GIS/GPS data.
• Review range survey reports and NATO/DoD instructions.
• Create plans to develop new range and report analyses (monthly/quarterly/annual).
• Maintain contacts within DoD and NATO; interact with senior customers.
• Provide laser safety instruction and develop workflows; translate requirements into data.
• Interpret data and support end users and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
