Job summary

Foster Farms in California is seeking a Ranch Supervisor to oversee fryers and assist the Ranch Manager in day-to-day activities. You will manage brood-out operations, monitor birds' health, and ensure strict sanitation across facilities.

The role requires leadership, reliability, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and respond to alarms or adverse conditions. Overtime, evenings, weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
• Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
• Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
• Must be able to work overtime, evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Must follow and enforce company standards and policies on ranch staff.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and assist Ranch Manager to oversee ranch activities and fryers.
• Assist manager to direct grow out of fryers through ranch setup and operations.
• Monitor brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations and medications.
• Maintain facilities and sanitation procedures; report anomalies to Manager or Field Supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies affecting chickens day or night.
• Help manage and control ranch production costs including labor, fuel, supplies, and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of feed, mortality, fuel, production and energy use.
• Provide training and delegate duties to ranch personnel; enforce safety guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
