Job summary

Foster Farms in Hickman, CA is seeking a Ranch Operations Associate to support the management of fryer ranch activities and ensure high-quality poultry production. You will assist in setting up grow-out programs, monitor temperatures, ventilation, vaccination and disease prevention, while maintaining records and enforcing safety standards.

The role requires supervisory abilities, poultry experience, and the capacity to lift 50 pounds; overtime, evenings, holidays and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
• Poultry raising experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
• Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
• Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
• Preferably have mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
• Must be able to work overtime, evenings, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ranch activities and fryer ranch functions.
• Assist in grow-out program setup: brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, medications.
• Maintain ranch facilities and equipment; ensure sanitation and disease prevention.
• Manage ranch production costs (labor, fuel, supplies, utilities, medications, maintenance).
• Maintain records of feed, mortality, production, and energy consumption.
• Provide training and delegation of duties to ranch personnel.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and animal welfare policies.
• Maintain awareness of safety and report issues to supervisor.
