Job summary

Grace Adventures is seeking a seasonal nurse to oversee camper medications, record injuries in the medical log, and respond to emergencies. You will support physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of campers and staff while maintaining the Health Office and ensuring safety and compliance.

The role is seasonal with housing and meals provided, requiring CPR certification and a valid healthcare credential. Candidates should be able to lift, endure long hours, and share a Christian faith.

Qualifications

  • Must have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Good health and stamina for long hours and lifting.
  • Certifications qualify you for this job: EMT or higher or equivalent nursing license.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries and implement the mission of ranch camps.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and distribution of camper medication.
  • Take care of minor injuries at camp and be equipped to handle major emergencies.
  • Inventory and stock all necessary first aid supplies.
  • Enter all injuries, first aid treatments, and medication in the bound camp medical log.
  • Report all serious injuries or diseases to the director and to the state (as required by law).
  • Distribute all medication according to the prescription.
  • Handle all emergencies according to the emergency medical procedures posted in the nurses’ station.
  • Keep all drugs and supplies locked up.
  • Make purchases as budgeted and directed.
  • Follow procedures to care for bodily fluid clean up.
  • Minister to campers and staff physical, emotional and spiritual needs through relationships.
  • Maintain the Health Office building.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
  • Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries and implement the mission of ranch camps. Oversee the collection, storage, and distribution of camper medication. Take care of minor injuries at camp and be equipped to handle major emergencies.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement a quality health care program that is safe, promotes good and healthy practices, and meets state laws.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inventory and stock all necessary first aid supplies.
  • Enter all injuries, first aid treatments, and medication in the bound camp medical log.
  • Report all serious injuries or diseases to the director and to the state (as required by law)
  • Distribute all medication according to the prescription
  • Handle all emergencies according to the emergency medical procedures posted in the nurses’ station.
  • Keep all drugs and supplies locked up
  • Make purchases as budgeted and directed

  • Various other duties as assigned by Sponsored Ministries Manager
  • Minister to campers and staff physical, emotional and spiritual needs through relationships
  • Maintain the Health Office building
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal
HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates
MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a partial position often performed in conjunction with one of the other Ranch Leadership Staff roles.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times.
  • Training will be provided (or) one of the following certifications qualify you for this job:
  • Physician
  • Physician’s assistant
  • Nurse practitioner
  • Registered nurse
  • Licensed practical nurse
  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Medical first responder
  • Wilderness first responder
  • Responding to emergencies
  • Must have current CPR certification or training will be provided.
  • At least 18 years old.
