Wing & Barrel Ranch is seeking a hands-on Operations Assistant to support hunting, kennel, and grounds operations in Sonoma, CA. You will help prepare birds, assist in bird processing, maintain equipment, and assist with club events while ensuring safety and guest service.

Responsibilities include dog handling, kennel upkeep, clay target maintenance, and basic plumbing or mechanical tasks. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits and growth opportunities within the private sports

Formación

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in groundskeeping, sporting activities, equipment maintenance, or similar fields.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certifications in forklift operation and scissor lift within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares birds and hunting grounds during upland season (October–April).
• Supports bird processing, including cleaning and packaging of game.
• Assists in bird planting and upland field preparation.
• Performs monthly bird inventory and hunting-season meat inventory.
• Assists in year-round sporting dog training and kennel upkeep.
• Aids members with dog boarding and kennel placement needs.
• Supports dog feeding, bathing, and general care.
• Troubleshoots and maintains clay shooting machines.
• Loads machines and ensures operational functionality and safety.
• Performs general preventative maintenance on ranch equipment.
• Provides basic plumbing support as needed.
• Completes inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Assists with setup, execution, and teardown of member and club events.
• Provides crossfunctional support to culinary, grounds, and hospitality departments.
• Participates in property improvement and landscaping projects.

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (with flexibility based on operational needs)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Hunting & Sporting Support

• Prepares birds and hunting grounds during upland hunting season (October April)
• Supports bird processing, including cleaning and packaging of game
• Assists in bird planting and upland field preparation
• Performs monthly bird inventory and huntingseason meat inventory

Dog & Kennel Operations

• Assists in yearround sporting dog training and kennel upkeep
• Aids members with dog boarding and kennel placement needs
• Supports dog feeding, bathing, and general care

Sporting Clay & Equipment Maintenance

• Troubleshoots and maintains clay shooting machines
• Loads machines and ensures operational functionality and safety
• Performs general preventative maintenance on ranch equipment (e.g., oil/filter changes, tire pressure, minor mechanical upkeep)
• Provides basic plumbing support as needed
• Completes inventory of tools, parts, and supplies

Cross-Department & Club Event Support

• Assists with setup, execution, and teardown of member and club events
• Provides crossfunctional support to culinary, grounds, and hospitality departments
• Participates in property improvement and landscaping projects

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in groundskeeping, sporting activities, equipment maintenance, or similar fields
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of hunting practices, dog handling, and clay target shooting preferred
• Exceptional troubleshooting and mechanical skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and execute multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Effective communication and professional interaction with members, guests, and staff
• Strong attention to detail and followthrough

Certifications (Required within 90 Days):

• Forklift operation certification
• Scissor lift certification

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, crouching, or lifting (up to 50 lbs frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally)
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dusty, windy)
• Comfortable working around dogs, birds, and firearms in a safetyconscious environment
• Capable of operating ATVs and other ranch machinery safely
