Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Ranch Assistant for a progressive Nebraska Sandhills operation. The right-hand man will manage day-to-day ranch activities at a separate location with minimal supervision, taking ownership and communicating effectively with ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong cow/calf ranch background is required.
• Calving, feeding and cattle health experience required.
• Fencing experience including electric fencing is needed.
• Hay production background and baling experience preferred.
• Backgrounding experience is a plus.
• Good mechanical ability for routine maintenance/ repairs.
• Strong decision-making, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily care of 300–400 cows, including calving, feeding and doctoring.
• Assist with backgrounding cattle as needed.
• Handle all fencing, including electric fence.
• Oversee hay production, baling and feeding.
• Operate tractors, balers, loaders and other ranch equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs; maintain water systems.
