Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Farm & Ranch Assistant for a diversified Nebraska producer. This dependable, self-motivated individual will support crop production and a 400-head cow/calf operation, operating John Deere, Case, and Kinze equipment, and performing routine maintenance.

The candidate should be able to work independently, take ownership, and grow into increased responsibilities while maintaining farm and livestock operations efficiently.

Qualifications

• Solid background in production row-crop farming and cow/calf operations.
• Experience operating larger farm equipment.
• Planting and harvest experience strongly preferred.
• Irrigation experience is a plus.
• Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Strong cattle-handling skills and a good understanding of cow/calf production.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working without constant supervision.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a small team.
• Responsible, trustworthy, and willing to take ownership of the position.
• Must be interested in a stable, long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of corn and soybean production, from field preparation and planting through harvest.
• Operate modern farm equipment, including John Deere and Case equipment and Kinze planters.
• Assist with irrigation throughout the growing season.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, servicing, and general repairs.
• Assist with all aspects of the 400-head cow/calf operation, including feeding, calving, herd health, processing, and general cattle care.
• Maintain fences, facilities, equipment, and other areas of the farm and ranch.
• Help prioritize daily work and handle responsibilities independently when the employer is unavailable.
• Work wherever needed to keep both the farming and livestock operations running efficiently.
