Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in wireless/RAN engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR air interface, call processing, and RAN architecture.
  • Strong understanding of 4G/5G wireless network architecture and 3GPP systems.
  • Experience with system engineering activities including requirements analysis, feature identification, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with 4G/5G wireless call protocols and call-flow analysis.
  • Experience with chipsets IODT testing in lab and field environments.
  • Understanding of 3GPP Release 15/16 technologies and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product, feature, and system requirements for wireless solutions.
  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into detailed system requirements.
  • Define and document feature requirements for development teams.
  • Support detailed design activities and communicate technical requirements to engineering teams.
  • Perform product and feature performance analysis.
  • Evaluate new product and software releases.
  • Perform detailed analysis of 4G/5G wireless call protocols and call flows.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex RAN issues identified during lab and field testing.
  • Support chipset IODT testing and interoperability issues.
  • Support introduction of new wireless technologies and virtualized networks.
  • Perform RAN performance analysis and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Develop technical and commercial solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Conduct technical deep-dive sessions with carrier customers.
  • Educate customers on new wireless products, features, and services.
  • Translate complex technical design considerations between sales teams and carrier networks.
  • Ensure customer commitments are delivered per project plans.
  • Support rollouts and deployments of new products and software.
  • Collaborate with engineering, support, logistics, field, and cross-functional teams.
  • Travel periodically as required.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced RAN Wireless SME to support advanced 4G/5G wireless products, system engineering, network performance, customer technical engagements, and new technology introduction.

This role will focus on RAN architecture, wireless call processing, system and feature requirements, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and customer solution development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on knowledge of LTE/5G technologies and the ability to translate complex customer requirements into technical solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales, engineering, support organizations, and global headquarters teams to drive successful product development, testing, deployment, and rollout activities.

Required Skills & Experience

What You’ll Bring

The successful candidate will combine deep LTE/5G RF engineering expertise with extensive hands‑on experience in wireless network optimization and performance management. You should be comfortable independently analyzing complex network performance data, identifying root causes, implementing optimization changes, and validating measurable improvements.

You’ll be expected to take ownership of sites throughout the complete lifecycle— from integration and optimization through acceptance and final closeout—while collaborating effectively with field, integration, OSS, performance, and engineering teams. A strong understanding of wireless network standards and acceptance requirements, combined with practical troubleshooting and optimization skills, will be critical to success in this role.
