Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Orlando, FL seeks a Ramp Supervisor to direct ramp agents unloading and loading luggage, freight, and cargo on and off aircraft. You will also drive and operate small GSE and ensure safety regulations are followed.

This role requires leadership, the ability to read loading instructions, and the stamina for heavy lifting and variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. Indoor/outdoor work in all weather is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and able to pass pre-employment screening.
• Must read/write English and have a valid driver’s license with a good record.
• Experience in ramp operations preferred; ability to train successfully.

Responsibilities

• Direct ramp agents, allocating resources as needed.
• Complete shift reports and clear exceptions in the T&A system.
• Enforce safety regulations for ramp personnel.
• Read and interpret weight/balance, hazard labels, manifests, and routing tags.
• Assist in baggage handling and operate ground support equipment when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Directs the work of ramp agents as they unload and load luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. Drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. Physical demands include heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed.
• Complete shift reports and clear all exceptions from the T&A system in a timely manner
• Ensure that ramp personnel adheres to established company safety regulations.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Assist in the baggage handling area.
• May occasionally operate various pieces of ground support equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Must be at least 18 years of age;
• Must have a High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
• Valid drivers license with a good driving record
• Capable of lifting comfortably 70 lbs.
• At least one year of prior ramp experience preferred
• Must be able to successfully complete Training
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays;
• Work is done indoors and outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
