Job summary

Alaska Airlines is hiring Ramp Service Agents to support ramp operations at Barrow. The RSA will perform below-wing duties to keep flights moving safely, with duties including loading cargo, transporting items, and maintaining ramp areas. This is a union-represented role.

Required are a valid driver's license, ability to lift 75 lbs, and flexibility for shifts including weekends and holidays. English communication and work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with others.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, push, pull, reach and grasp multiple hours a day.
• Must be able to obtain airport security clearance.
• Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.
• Ability to anticipate needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work at a constant and quick pace forextended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to learn quickly and understand and interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information.
• Must have good attendance and punctuality record.
• Depending upon your work location, you may be required to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Load and offload luggage and cargo with the use of conveyor belts or forklifts.
• Transport luggage and cargo to various airport locations.
• Maintain ramp and warehouse areas.
• Marshaland push back aircraft.
