Job summary

American Airlines is seeking Fleet Service Clerks to handle baggage and cargo on and off aircraft, operate belt loaders, and service aircraft at gates. You’ll work outdoors in varied weather, with shifts including weekends and holidays, and you must pass pre-employment checks and security requirements.

The role offers starting pay of $20.63 per hour under the TWU agreement, with benefits and opportunities across a global network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Lift, load, unload, and transport bags and cargo to/from aircraft and luggage carts.
• Must have knowledge of and ability to use basic computer skills.
• People-oriented and highly motivated with a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Good communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license as required by local authorities.
• Must be able to obtain required airport security badges.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Move baggage and cargo of varying weights to and from aircraft.
• Drive and operate belt loaders.
• Service aircraft at gates with ground power and air conditioning.
• Tow and pushback aircraft from gates.
• Assist with lavatories and water ports.
• Clean aircraft interior as needed.
• Arrange beverage and luggage carts around ramp area.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Shifts include irregular or extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
