Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Site / Civil Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office, with occasional local and regional travel. The role covers hands-on layout planning, piping systems, grading, paving, roadways, and stormwater infrastructure, along with managing project stages from concept to construction support.

The candidate should have 3-10 years of site/civil design and permitting experience, FE status or PE licensure, and strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills.

Qualifications

3-10 years of site/civil design and permitting experience.
Experience with water/wastewater projects is advantageous.
FE status or PE licensure preferred.
Proficiency AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2022 required.
Familiarity with Revit/BIM and hydrologic/hydraulic tools desired.

Responsibilities

Design and develop site layout plans including yard piping, roadways, grading, stormwater systems, and paving for water/wastewater projects.
Conceptual and preliminary design efforts, including field visits, data collection, alternatives analysis, and technical reporting.
Perform hydraulic calculations and contribute to hydraulic modeling tasks.
Permitting processes and evaluating design alternatives.
Coordinate work with sub‑consultants and ensure design integration.
Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic design deliverables.
Provide construction‑phase support by reviewing contractor submittals and responding to RFIs.
Site reconnaissance and field investigations.
