Job summary

UNC Health Rex in Raleigh, NC invites board-certified/board-eligible Acute Care Surgeons to join a per-diem inpatient team. You will cover rotating 12-hour shifts and stay in-house during shifts with no outpatient duties.

The role offers variety across weekday, weekend, and holiday call in a supportive surgical service. Eligible candidates hold MD/DO, NC license or eligible, BLS/ACLS; prior acute-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Active North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain).
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience preferred with interest in acute care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Per-diem inpatient acute care surgery role.
• Rotating 12hr shifts—7a–7p or 7p–7a.
• Physician stays in-house during shift with no outpatient presence.
• Shifts may be weekday, weekend or holiday based on service needs.
