Job summary

UNC Health Rex in Raleigh, NC invites board-certified/board-eligible Acute Care Surgeons to join a per-diem inpatient team. You will cover rotating 12-hour shifts and stay in-house during shifts with no outpatient duties.

The role offers variety across weekday, weekend, and holiday call in a supportive surgical service. Eligible candidates hold MD/DO, NC license or eligible, BLS/ACLS; prior acute-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Active North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain).
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience preferred with interest in acute care procedures.

North Carolina Surgery at Raleigh is actively seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Acute Care Surgeon to join their practice. This is a per-diem position within a well-established, community-focused surgical practice providing high-quality care to adult patients across a broad range of general surgical needs.

Position Highlights

• Depending on the needs of the service and physician availability these may be weekday, weekend or Holiday shifts

• Education Requirements: Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical Staff, including meeting the Board Certification requirements. Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
• Licensure/Certification Requirements: DEA;MD, BLS
• Professional Experience Requirements: Prefer prior hospitalist experience.
• Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English. REASONING ABILITYHigh-level quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential in order to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNorth Carolina Medical License, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification preferred. Board certified in Internal Medicine.
