Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking Installation Engineers to support the Train Control Upgrade Project (TCUP) in San Francisco, California. You will design, coordinate, and implement cable routing and installation solutions for wayside infrastructure, supporting DCS antennas, radios, and signaling systems.

The role requires collaboration with civil engineering partners and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are safe, constructible, compliant, and delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in railway infrastructure, installation engineering, or transportation projects in a brownfield environment.
• Experience designing cable pathways, raceways, ducts, and cable routing solutions for railway systems.
• Strong understanding of constructability considerations and installation practices.
• Experience coordinating with civil engineering stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate cable routing and cableway / conduit design for wayside infrastructure.
• Guide and supervise subcontractors and design partners in installation and routing designs for site construction.
• Coordinate with civil engineering partners to resolve design and interface issues and clashes.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and local electrical regulations.
• Collaborate with civil, signaling, telecommunications and systems engineering teams for ready-for-construction solutions.
