Job summary

BNSF Railway seeks an Electrician in Brainerd, MN to ensure reliable operation and safety of locomotive electrical systems and shop machinery. Travel is minimal and training is provided on the job.

Responsibilities include disassembly, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic controls, wiring harnesses, and motor control systems under safety‑sensitive conditions. Strong reading of schematics is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics.
• Able to install, repair, and troubleshoot locomotive electrical systems.
• Prior experience with electrical safety in a high‑risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, modify, remanufacture, and troubleshoot machinery.
• Inspect, test, adjust, clean, lubricate, and wire electrical components.
• Fabricate control boxes and wiring harnesses for machines and engines.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic symbols and schematics.
