Job summary

RailWorks Corporation in Stockton, CA is seeking a Craft Foreman to direct work groups on active railway property and through construction zones, ensuring contractors clear the working zone prior to a train's approach to minimize delays.

You will set up signals, communicate with the protected work group and Rail Traffic Controllers, perform daily safety briefings, manage vehicle inspections, and handle administrative duties under the Capital Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years related job experience in railway industry.
• Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand schedules, standard railway plans and specifications.
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive position directing work groups on live railway corridors.

Responsibilities

• Embrace safety culture and adhere to industry and company policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily job briefings so contractors understand site-specific instructions.
• Review the work site daily with Supervisor or contractors’ representative to understand work and hazards.
• Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals (flags) at designated locations.
• Communicate with the protected work group, other flagmen, and Rail Traffic Controllers using established procedures and radio equipment to ensure clear instructions.
• Operate company vehicles and perform daily maintenance and inspections of units.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Capital Supervisor.
• Handle administrative duties related to proper documentation per Quality Management System.
