Frontline duties include loading/unloading, applying proper labels, weighing ingredients as needed, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the rail yard.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Railroad Technician in routing inbound rail shipments into the Crockett Plant's rail yard.
  • Unhook and hook back railcars during switching.
  • Able to pull and hook up hoses to railcars.
  • Able to spot cars in correct locations.
  • Ensure shipments are properly labeled and packed.
  • Document incoming raw materials and outgoing materials.

Job description

Brief Description This position is responsible for assisting the Railroad Technician with switching cars from track to track. When not assisting the Railroad Technician the position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, labeling stock, and non-stock materials, and completing any other tasks related to Shipping and Receiving.

Work Schedule Monday thru Friday

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Railroad Technician in the routing of all inbound rail shipments form the switching railroad into the Crockett Plant's rail yard
  • Unhook and hook back railcars during switching
  • Able to pull and hook up hoses to railcars
  • Able to spot cars in correct locations
  • Ensures all housekeeping standards are followed daily in the rail yard
  • Recognizes, retains and protects confidential information, specifically with customer information pertaining to pricing, formulations, business relationships and product characteristics
  • Attends plant safety meetings and adheres to safety policies and procedures
  • Meets requirements to achieve and maintain certifications and accreditations, as they pertain to job
  • Follows instructions of supervisor(s) and plant management pertaining to job
  • Documents/record incoming raw material information and outgoing material
  • Loads, unloads and picks materials as needed
  • Operates heavy motorized material handling equipment
  • Examine materials for damage
  • Stores and stacks items in accordance with established storage rules and methods
  • Counts and arranges inventory as needed
  • Assembles, prepares and checks merchandise to be loaded onto trucks
  • Ensure shipments are properly labeled and packed
  • Obtains related documentation for each order
  • Ensure correct ingredients are delivered to the work area
  • Weigh ingredients to meet customer orders and specifications
  • Remains aware of any issues or concerns with machinery and processes
  • Supplies production with appropriate materials
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned or as apparent

Education And Experience

  • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred forklift experience
  • Preferred previous manufacturing experience

    • Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment
