R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC in Pearland, TX is seeking Train Crew Members to join our team.

You will assist in the safe daily operation of trains, operate track switches, couple cars, and work on freight trains in yard operations and on the road. We expect mechanical aptitude, basic reading and math skills, and a valid driver’s license. The role requires physical endurance, the ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing as per FRA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined and able to develop teamwork with all levels of personnel to achieve train-handling objectives.
• Must have driver’s license and basic reading/math skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of the safe daily operation of trains.
• Operate equipment according to company policies, procedures, and practices, including safety and DOT requirements.
• Operate track switches, couple cars, and work on freight trains in yard operations and on the road.
• Move and align rail equipment to create or build trains.
• Review dispatchers’ and yardmasters’ instructions and discuss with train crew.
• Multi-task safely, pulling, controlling, and maneuvering equipment as needed.
• Work with customers to ensure correct movement and placement of cars.
• Handle locomotive engineering duties as responsibilities increase.
• Subject to random alcohol and drug testing per FRA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
