Qualifications

• Previous railroad or industrial switching experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles and machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Overall willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate switches and brakes to move trains safely between tracks.
• Build trains by attaching/detaching freight cars and inspect for rules compliance.
• Ensure safe working conditions and PPE use as required.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment following safety practices.
• Maintain good customer relations with proper radio etiquette and face-to-face communication.
• Maintain facility and equipment to RJ Corman Look Good standards.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
