Job summary

Faith Technologies, a leader in engineering and construction, seeks an experienced Railroad Signal Technician to join our field team in Ohio. You will work with a cohesive crew, maintain and inspect grade crossing systems, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2-5 years Railroad Signal Maintenance; completion of related training preferred.
• Travel: up to 100%.
• Schedule may vary including nights, weekends and holidays; overtime possible.

Responsibilities

• Works as a member of a cohesive team with minimal supervision.
• Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles.
• Maintains compliance with FRA, OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer safety requirements.
• Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections without direct supervision.
• Safely operates heavy equipment to assist with Grade Crossing System installations.
• Installs, programs and calibrates grade crossing predictors and related hardware.
• Familiar with AREMA Guidelines for Grade Crossing System requirements.
• Displays basic railroad signal troubleshooting skills.
• Verifies site information against circuit plans.
• Reads and understands Railroad Timetable documents.
• Uses Signal Technician testing equipment and required tools.
• Complies with Signalman Hours of Service regulations.
• Participates in railroad PPE requirements.
• Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 2-5 years Railroad Signal Maintenance. Successful completion of Hot Box and Signal Apprentice Training Program through Signal Training Solutions or prior experience required.
• Travel: up to 100%
• Work Schedule: Schedule may vary and can include, but is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works as a member of a cohesive team while demonstrating ability to work without direct supervision.
• Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles.
• Maintains compliance with all FRA, OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer-specific safety requirements along with immediately identifying, correcting, and/or reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner.
• Ability to properly perform Monthly, Quarterly, Annual inspections without direct supervision.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as (mini excavator, skid steer, telehandler) to assist with Grade Crossing System Installations.
• Maintains knowledge to correctly install, program and/or calibrate grade crossing predictors, solid state crossing controllers, relays, resistors, gate mechanisms, lighting circuitry.
• Familiarity with AREMA Guidelines for Grade Crossing System minimum requirements.
• Displays basic railroad signal troubleshooting skills.
• Verifies basic site information against circuit plans.
• Reads and understands Railroad Timetable document.
• Properly uses Signal Technician testing equipment & required tools.
• Complies with and understands Signalman Hours of Service regulations.
• Actively participates in railroad designated PPE requirements.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
