Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a cohesive team with minimal supervision.
  • Clean and maintain job site, tools, and vehicles.
  • Adhere to FRA, OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer safety requirements and report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections without direct supervision.
  • Safely operate heavy equipment (e.g., mini excavator, skid steer, telehandler) for Grade Crossing System installations.
  • Install, program and calibrate grade crossing predictors, solid-state crossing controllers, relays, resistors, gate mechanisms, and lighting circuitry.
  • Familiarity with AREMA guidelines for Grade Crossing System requirements and basic railroad signal troubleshooting.
  • Verify site information against circuit plans and read Railroad Timetable documents.
  • Use Signal Technician testing equipment and required tools while complying with Signalman Hours of Service regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2-5 years Railroad Signal Maintenance. Successful completion of Hot Box and Signal Apprentice Training Program through Signal Training Solutions or prior experience required.
  • Travel: up to 100%
  • Work Schedule: Schedule may vary and can include, but is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works as a member of a cohesive team while demonstrating ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles.
  • Maintains compliance with all FRA, OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer-specific safety requirements along with immediately identifying, correcting, and/or reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner.
  • Ability to properly perform Monthly, Quarterly, Annual inspections without direct supervision.
  • Safely operate heavy equipment such as (mini excavator, skid steer, telehandler) to assist with Grade Crossing System Installations.
  • Maintains knowledge to correctly install, program and/or calibrate grade crossing predictors, solid state crossing controllers, relays, resistors, gate mechanisms, lighting circuitry.

  • Actively participates in railroad designated PPE requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
