Job summary

BNSF Railway Company seeks a dedicated Security Agent in Gallup, NM, to protect assets, conduct investigations, and coordinate security operations. The role requires peace officer credentials, strong leadership, and the ability to respond to emergencies across railroad facilities and trains.

Applicants must have completed police training, meet licensing standards, and be willing to travel within the region. A valid driver’s license and background clearance are required for employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed basic police training at a state-certified academy.
• Must meet peace officer commissioning standards and hold a valid State Peace Officer License.
• Must meet BNSF Resource Protection Solutions Team standards as a Special Agent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel as required.
• Must be able to use the company’s computer system for reports and databases.
• Must pass background investigations and pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Protect assets and resources including personnel and property.
• Conduct investigations and provide reports and testimony when required.
• Identify and handle trespassers on company property and make arrests as appropriate.
• Counsel company officials to reduce crime and improve security; coordinate responses to emergencies; supervise guards and train staff.
• Perform security patrols with emphasis on high-value shipments and trains.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
