Job summary

Amtrak's Host Railroads Group offers an internship focused on operations analysis and contract administration.

You will perform quantitative analyses, audit systems and records, and help develop negotiating positions for current or future host railroad negotiations.

The role includes on-site work in Philadelphia, with pay between $18.00 and $35.00 per hour, plus rail pass privileges and one PTO day per academic year.

Qualifications

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
• Must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in economics, business, or other quantitative disciplines.
• Must have at least 2 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a junior status at minimum.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong quantitative research and analysis skills.
• Strong business sense.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Research, collect, and analyze data.
• Make recommendations based on analysis of delay, on-time performance, revenue, cost, and other data.
• Update and maintain two multi-user contracts databases.
• Compile, distribute and file agreement documents, including electronic records.
• Assist in design of performance measurement reports.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with management.
