Amtrak in Washington, DC invites applications for a product management internship focused on the Choose & Book portfolio. Qualifications

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in MIS, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Marketing, or Computer Science.
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product documentation, reporting, dashboards, and research deliverables for the Choose & Book portfolio and support PI planning.
  • Analyze customer, market, and delivery information, document findings, and present recommendations to product leadership.
  • Contribute to the Choose & Book product team by conducting customer and market research, improving product documentation, creating status reports and dashboards, and helping maintain product planning artifacts.
  • Develop an understanding of Agile product management while producing deliverables that improve product visibility, planning readiness, and team effectiveness.

Position Summary

Lead an internship project focused on improving product management practices within the Choose & Book portfolio, including backlog quality analysis, feature documentation, portfolio reporting, and customer research. By the end of the internship, deliver actionable recommendations, reporting tools, and documented findings that enhance product planning, delivery transparency, and decision-making.

Essential Functions
  • Develop product documentation, reporting, dashboards, and research deliverables that improve visibility into the Choose & Book portfolio and support Program Increment planning activities.
  • Analyze customer, market, and delivery information, document findings, and present recommendations to product leadership as part of a structured internship experience.
  • Contribute to the Choose & Book product team by conducting customer and market research, improving product documentation, creating status reports and dashboards, and helping maintain product planning artifacts.
  • Develop an understanding of Agile product management while producing deliverables that improve product visibility, planning readiness, and team effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Marketing, or Computer Science.
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Pay Transparency

The hourly range is $18.00 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
