Martinus in Mount Pleasant, TX is seeking a Railroad Rail Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain railroad equipment and MOW systems, including tampers and ballast regulators. The role ensures safe, compliant operation and timely repairs across locomotives, railcars, and related machinery.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostic work, welding, on-call emergency support, and documentation of all maintenance activities, with a focus on safety and regulatory

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in mechanical repair, heavy equipment, diesel engines, or railroad systems preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and service manuals.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required depending on role.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and on-call as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems on locomotives, railcars, and maintenance equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines, brakes, hydraulics, and components.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using tools, testing equipment, and manuals.
• Repair or replace bearings, couplers, hoses, valves, and motors.
• Maintain and service track machinery such as tampers and ballast regulators.
• Conduct air brake inspections and repairs per federal standards.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist with emergency repairs and breakdown response.
