Qualifications

• Must be journeyman level with four years of practical experience or a four-year apprenticeship.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to weld (GMAW, TIG, SMAW, FCAW) and to use a cutting torch.
• EPA 608 certification within one year; valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, test, repair, maintain, and replace components on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic railroad systems.
• Perform maintenance on locomotives, passenger cars, power cars, and on/off-track equipment.
• Execute periodic inspections and FRA-regulated maintenance and inspections.
• Work under supervision with potential for self-motivation; follow safety and regulatory requirements.
