Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer for the Atlanta, GA area. The role involves operating and servicing heavy equipment used in railroad derailment response, performing material handling, and ensuring safety protocols and PPE usage.

The position requires a valid CDL-A with DOT medical card, ability to pass background and drug screening, and willingness to travel. Expect ongoing on-the-job training, opportunities for advancement, and guaranteed full-time hours

Qualifications

• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical capacity test.
• Valid CDL-A with no restrictions and DOT medical card.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs and frequently carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and at heights over 25 feet.

Responsibilities

• Transport, operate, and service heavy equipment used in railroad derailment response.
• Handle materials like chains, blocks, cables, and other devices.
• Follow DOT regulations and ensure proper permits and driving rules.
• Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process.
• Perform maintenance, cleaning, and setup of equipment; use tools as needed.
