Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Railroad Flagger to support major railroads, transit systems, and contractors. The role ensures on-track safety, coordinates activities at the job site, and enforces federal, state, and railroad rules.

Travel is required (50%–85% on average). You will use basic computer tools, Android tablets, and smartphones, build strong client relationships, and complete daily reports while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance on projects

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with major rail operators or contractors, preferably in MOW.
• Must communicate clearly in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Willing to travel for long periods (even months at a time).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities at the job site
• Communicate with dispatchers, train crews, railroad staff, and contractors
• Lead safety briefings before work begins
• Follow and enforce railroad, state, and federal rules
• Ensure contractors meet training requirements
• Spot and address any rule violations
• Complete daily reports on work activities
• Maintain on-track safety following federal regulations
