Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Gainesville, FL to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC ensures all work within railroad rights-of-way is performed safely and in accordance with regulations. The role requires effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel long-term for deployments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging as needed within railroad rights-of-way.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during rail work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities to keep personnel safe.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers and engineers.
• Document all activities, including briefings, incident reports, and logs.
