Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks dedicated, safety-driven individuals for the Contractor in Charge role in Fort Worth, TX. The CIC oversees construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

Qualifications

• Requires strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication required.
• Ability for long-term travel and multi-month deployments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during rail work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors.
• Document all activities, including briefs and daily logs for management/regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
