Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Winnemucca, NV to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC ensures work within railroad rights‑of‑way is performed safely and per regulations. The role requires travel 50%–85%, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage job briefings, track conditions, and coordination with dispatchers while documenting all activities for management

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
• Background checks, drug/alcohol testing, and training completion are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) and railroad safety standards.
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate train movements with dispatchers and engineers.
• Document all activities and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
