Job summary

Road & Rail Services in Fort Collins, CO is hiring a Railcar Repair Technician with a strong mechanical background and welding experience to inspect, maintain, and repair railcars.

This full-time outdoor, hands-on role requires safety-conscious work habits, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently or with a team using basic hand tools. Railcar repair experience is preferred but not required; relevant welding or industrial maintenance skills are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background or relevant repair experience.
• Welding experience strongly preferred.
• Railcar repair experience preferred but not required.
• Experience safely using basic hand and mechanical tools.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow repair instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for damage, wear, fatigue, and serviceability.
• Determine which repairs can be completed by Road & Rail Services.
• Perform authorized repairs according to customer requirements and AAR specifications.
• Complete mechanical repair, welding, cutting, grinding, and related maintenance work.
• Safely use hand tools and operate equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Report unsafe conditions and repair concerns promptly.
• Work independently while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
