Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Rolling Stock Repair & Welding Specialist to support repair operations and shop maintenance. You’ll handle materials, operate shop machines, and perform basic cutting and welding under supervision while building foundational skills in railcar welding positions.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, progressing as you demonstrate skill and consistency in the shop, with 10-hour shifts and full-time hours in a rail-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in mechanical repair or welding.
• Experience with MIG welding preferred.
• Experience with brake repair and using hand tools.
• Willing to learn railcar welding positions.

Responsibilities

• Support general railcar repair operations and shop maintenance.
• Handle materials for ongoing repair projects.
• Operate shop machinery and mechanical hand tools.
• Execute basic cutting and welding; perform limited welds under supervision.
• Remove/replace uncoupling levers; remove/dismantle couplers.
• Remove/replace brake levers; assist with car jacking.
• Take part in supervised railcar truck repair.
• Develop toward certification in railcar welding positions (1G Flat and 2G Horizontal).
