Job summary

Holland LP in Upper Sandusky, Ohio hires a Railcar Prep Specialist responsible for prepping railcars to procedures, operating service trucks, and performing pre- and post-inspections.

You will follow safety procedures, assist with inventory, communicate with customers, and maintain equipment while developing railcar repair knowledge per AAR/FRA guidelines. Travel up to 10% and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Welder to AWS D15.0 preferred.
• Prepping Training Certification preferred.
• Proven knowledge and experience in railcar prepping.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with customers, employees, management and vendors.
• Good organizational and paperwork skills.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and abide by the corporate fleet policy.
• Ability to complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.

Responsibilities

• Perform railcar prepping according to established procedure.
• Safely operate service truck/trailer/RTV.
• Conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of assigned truck/trailer/RTV/tools/parts.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and Blue Flag Rules.
• Create required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in inventory of material and parts.
• Maintain good communication with customers.
• Follow company and railroad policies and procedures.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and site.
• Perform mobile cleaning.
• Learn to develop railcar repair knowledge per AAR/FRA and company guidelines.
• Learn to utilize customer tracking information to determine scheduling.
• Other duties as assigned.
